Infopro Digital
Interviewing international
professionals
Infopro Digital is a French group which specialises in B2B information, data and technologies. Its media brands help different business communities keep up with the latest market news and innovations.
Writing content for specialist industries
I’ve worked with Infopro Digital Stories, the group’s content production agency, on a regular basis over the last few years, writing articles, advertorials and white papers which have been published in print or on the websites of:
- La Gazette des Communes (news from the local public authorities)
- L’Usine Nouvelle (business news with a focus on multiple industries, including energy and sustainable development, health, transport, IT, telecoms, cybersecurity, digital and new technologies)
- L’Argus de l’Assurance (news from the insurance sector)
- Le Moniteur (news from the construction and public works industry).
Adapting to a multilingual context
Not only does creating content with international stakeholders involve interviewing international experts in English, it also requires a few little tweaks to be made to the ‘classic’ content production methodology. At every stage of the process, it’s vital to make sure the client understands and approves of what’s being done, even if they have don’t understand a word of French.
This process involves:
- transposing the brand’s editorial guidelines from English (if such a document exists) into French (if there’s no such document)
- drafting the outline in English (instead of French) to ensure alignment before the article is written
- commenting on the document in English to provide additional context on certain editorial decisions or vocabulary choices
- polishing the quotes in English so that they can be approved by the interviewees, before being translated into French.
Delivering both short and long-form content
